<p><span style="font-size: medium; color: #333333;">Join us for the &#8220;Find Your Voice&#8221; Workshop to learn about Hawaii&#8217;s legislative process and find out how you can get involved and make a difference. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium; color: #333333;">This workshop provides an overview of Hawaii&#8217;s legislative process and help you become an advocate for your cause! We will demystify the legislative process, share key issues for the 2012 Legislative Session, and explain how you can take advocate effectively. You will learn how to find and track bills of interest to you, submit testimony, and make a difference on issues you care about. This event is geared toward students and recent graduates. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium; color: #333333;">Confirmed speakers include: Suzanne Marinelli, Coordinator of the Public Access Room at the Hawaii State Capitol, who will explain the ins and outs of the legislative process; Nikki Love, Executive Director of Common Cause Hawaii, who will share tips on being an effective advocate for the public interest; and James Koshiba, Executive Director of Kanu Hawaii, who will discuss how you can make the biggest impact for your community and on the issues important to you. A representative from ASUH will also speak about the importance of student involvement in the community and our government.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: medium; color: #333333;">Kokua Hawai’i Foundation &amp; Sustainable Coastlines Hawai’i are hosting a beach cleanup at Kahuku Beach on Martin Luther King Day! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="color: #333333;">Kahuku Beach boarders the</span> <a href="http://www.fws.gov/jamescampbell/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.fws.gov/jamescampbell/?referer=');">James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge</a> <span style="color: #333333;">which provides a protected home for endangered Hawaiian waterbirds, migratory shorebirds, and waterfowl. The beach also serves as a resting habitat for the endangered Hawaiian monk seal and a nesting habitat for both the threatened green turtles and seabirds.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium; color: #333333;">Please bring a refillable water bottle, hat, gloves, sunscreen, and a dish to share. Following the beach clean-up there will be a pot-luck BBQ, entertainment &amp; raffle prizes.</span></p>
