Kupu Mission

“To empower youth to serve their communities through character-building, service-learning, and environmental stewardship opportunities that encourage integrity (pono) with God, self and others.”

Kupu’s Program Goals

• Provide training and education to Hawaii’s youth
• Help to expose youth to conservation  issues and develop an environmental mindset
• Assist community development through skills training, job and internship placement, and career pathway development

Members will assist the organization, and support partner agencies in the effective implementation of the Hawaii Energy Study pilot project – providing residence with real time energy consumption data and implementable recommendations in energy conservation and efficiency measures. 

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Positions have been filled.

• Applications will be accepted until December 31, 2011. Those received after November  25, 2011 will be filed under ‘further YEAH opportunities.
• Late applicants will be contacted should additional positions become available.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

#1: Complete the application form, include resume

Answer all questions to the best of your ability in the spaces provided.

#2: Submit resume

Please be prepared to upload a resume as part of the online application. Please do not attach any information that is not requested.

#3: Submit a cover letter or personal statement

Please do not exceed 2 pages in length.

#4: Obtain letters of recommendation or provide no less than three references.

Each applicant must submit two (2) letters of recommendation. All letters of recommendation should be written by professional sources such as coaches, supervisors, teachers, groups you volunteered with, church leaders, or anyone who has known you for at least three months. Letters of recommendation should not be written by immediate family members or close friends.

Letters of recommendation can be collected and uploaded along with your application. If you are unable to obtain letters before applying, they may be submitted by email to yeahprogram@kupuhawaii.org or mailed to:

References can be submitted along with your application.  Please provide full name, email addresse, addresse, phone number(s), and number of years you’ve known the person.

• Discuss your positive attributes
• Refer to your aptitude, curiosity, and industriousness
• Discuss how you have demonstrated maturity or leadership skills
• Reference contact information
• Be no more than two pages in length
