Reserve Our Space
The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Hoʻokupu Center is a sustainable and green facility that houses a commercial kitchen, training rooms, classrooms and meeting spaces. Located in Kewalo Basin Park, the Hoʻokupu Center can be used to host events, exhibitions and educational workshops. The space is also home to the Kupu Community Program, which prepares under-resourced youth for the workforce.
To be resilient and respectful of the lands, careful thought was put into the design of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Hoʻokupu Center, creating a unique space that transforms lives and gives rise to our next generation. The award-winning center includes a net-zero energy-rated photovoltaic system, an EV charging station, farm-to-table preferred cuisine and incorporates natural lighting systems.

Spaces
Capacity: 225
Hālau, our Great Hall and Multi-Purpose Learning Area is flexible and inviting. It is equipped with a laser projector and 15’ screen. Garage doors can be rolled up to bring the outdoors in.
Wahi ʻĀkoakoa, our outdoor multi-purpose area is a scenic waterfront space for community events featuring a commercial imu (underground oven) and native plant garden, including akia, loulu, and hala.

From a delicious brunch, quick sandwich box or perhaps a buffet for lunch or dinner – we have your catering needs covered with locally sourced ingredients and influences from across the state.

Note: Our venue is not available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7AM to 3PM. Kupu programs and events have priority for use of these spaces.

Reservations & Deposit
A confirmed reservation may be made up to a year prior to an event date or at a minimum, 30-days prior. All reservations require:
1) A confirmation and $500 non-refundable deposit and
2) A signed Facility Use Agreement prior to the event.
Confirmation of all events is at the discretion of Ho'okupu Center staff and subject to administrative rules, policies, and procedures, and availability of facilities, resources and staff.

Parking is available behind the facility and based on availability.

Food
Catering is available by Kupu Grinds, our own catering program, for onsite or off-site events. Please see our menu for prices. Prices include the cost of ingredients, labor and supplies. Additional catering services are available for a fee.
Liquor
The Ho’okupu Center does not handle liquor. Bartenders are to be hired directly by the Client. The Center can provide a preferred vendor list to bartending companies. The Client is responsible to set up their own bar station by bringing in their own coolers, ice, liquor, mixes, soft drinks, napkins, cups, condiments, etc. The bar must be kept clean and staffed at all times by an adult 21 years or older. The bar must close 30 minutes prior to the ending of your party. All items must be brought in to the Center on the day of the event. We will not store product for the Client. Under Hawaii State Laws, alcoholic beverages will not be served to anyone under the age of 21 years. The Ho’okupu Center reserves the right to terminate the service of liquor on the premises, or the event if there is consumption of liquor by minors and/or the consumption of liquor by any person deemed intoxicated. Liquor may not be sold on premise. See Event Staff for questions regarding liquor sales on premises.
