Kepa’s Story

"Kupu has been woven into my life for more than 15 years — first as a participant, then as a staff member, and now as a donor. Along the way, I gained not only skills and opportunities, but also a deeper connection to my culture, my community, and our ʻāina. Kupu shaped the person I am today and instilled in me a sense of purpose that continues to guide my work.

Because of that, I’ve chosen to make Kupu part of my legacy by naming the organization as a beneficiary of my retirement savings. This gift is my way of giving back to the place that invested so much in me, while ensuring that future generations of Hawai‘i’s young people will have the same chance to learn, grow, and lead.

I believe in Kupu’s mission with every part of who I am. Knowing that my gift will help sustain this work of empowering youth and caring for our ʻāina makes me proud — and deeply grateful — to be part of the Kupu ʻohana.”
